Epic! Solo Leveling: Arise Brings Back Go Gun-hee, A Fan Favorite Character, In A Younger Form

At the time, this made sense, since after Sung Jinwoo he was one of the most popular characters in the story. On August 29, 2024, he was released as a Light-element tank, but now he’s being reintroduced with new abilities.

Solo Leveling: Arise has confirmed that Go Gun-Hee will be the first Water-element unit to be classified as a Buster. The Buster category is still relatively new and was first introduced with Liu Zhigang this year, on June 4, 2026. This will make her a unique character to use in the game.
A young Go Gun-Hee with Hunter powers is something fans have long awaited. Go Gun-Hee’s only weakness is his advanced age, and if he had received his powers while at the peak of his physical strength, he would not only have become Korea’s strongest Hunter after Jinwoo, but also a National-level Hunter on par with Thomas Andre and Liu Zhigang perhaps even stronger than them. His potential is immense, and it is finally being explored in greater detail after years of living in Jinwoo’s shadow.
Nevertheless, Go Gun-Hee remains quite important within the main narrative of Solo Leveling. Although she is the Chairwoman of the Hunter Association, her most important role in the story is as Jinwoo’s mentor.
Since Jinwoo’s father had left years before his journey began, Go Gun-Hee served as a surrogate parent figure who guided him along the way. Go Gun-Hee’s death is also one of the most impactful losses in the story, and it is one that lingers in Jinwoo’s memory for a long time, driving him on his journey to launch the 27-Year War, in which he resets the timeline and saves Go Gun-Hee’s life.
