In the world of Solo Leveling, the protagonist, Sung Jinwoo, is almost always the main star. However, that doesn’t mean this phenomenal worldcreated by the famous author Chugong doesn’t feature other interesting characters.

Even for existing characters, the game often adds its own unique twist and provides new backstories, expanding on the information Chugong shared in the novel. Although Solo Leveling Arise has been relatively quiet without any major updates recently, a major new release is finally on the horizon, and with it, we’ll be treated to a new version of Go Gun-Hee.
To provide some context, Go Gun-Hee is one of South Korea’s strongest Hunters. According to the original Solo Leveling story, he is an S-Rank Hunter and serves as the Chairman of the South Korean Hunters’ Association.
Solo Leveling: Arise Go Gun-Hee
He was blessed with the Radiant Fragment of Light from the Rulers, but even with that power, he was unable to unleash his true potential due to his advanced age. Solo Leveling: Arise changed that forever.
At this time, we don’t know exactly when the new alternate version of Go Gun-Hee known as Holy Guardian Barrier Go Gun-Hee will be released. All we know is that it will be included in the next update, scheduled for October 2026.
Go Gunhee will be released alongside Velvet’s new successor character, Rakan’s successor, King Fang. This new release is set to be one of the most exciting releases of the year, and we’re all waiting for more information about Go Gunhee’s Holy Guardian Barrier from Netmarble Studio before the release.
Technically speaking, the upcoming alternate version of Go Gun-Hee isn’t the first of its kind. When Solo Leveling: Arise was first released around the same time as the anime in 2024—Go Gun-Hee was one of the first characters to be added to the game.
